Commercial Printing

Fairfax New Zealand has recently concluded an examination of commercial sheet fed printing across the organisation and is pleased to announce some changes as part of the ongoing commitment to commercial printing.

Group Operations Manager Brian Ashton confirmed today that Terry Lomas previously the Commercial Print Manager for Taupo Times Commercial Print, ICN will take up the role of Commercial Print Manager for both the Times Commercial Print (Waikato Times) and Taupo Times Commercial Print, effective immediately. This change is aimed at growing the commercial printing opportunities across both these regions and recognises the expertise and capability that Terry brings to commercial printing. It was also confirmed that Fairfax is committed to commercial printing and is currently investigating options to increase the printing capability for the Waikato and Taupo regions.

In addition to the responsibilities for commercial printing operations at Taupo and Waikato, Terry will also be responsible for establishing a single point of contact for all Fairfax group sheet fed printing to maximise the current sheet fed capability across Fairfax New Zealand.

Brian Ashton also announced while it is business as usual for commercial printing, all commercial sheet fed printing operations will now report to Dan Blackbourn (Group Pre-Press and Print Scheduling Manager). The commercial printing operations will continue to be supported locally for day to day activities, their budget and ongoing strategic direction will now be guided by Group Operations.

Brian Ashton also added that Fairfax New Zealand is reviewing the current branding opportunities for commercial printing and is looking at leveraging internal printing opportunities between Fairfax Australia and Fairfax New Zealand.
