The Eye

The Eye

Committed to making sure 'the little guy gets their time in the sun' The Eye celebrates everything the city and its outlying regions have to offer.

From the Southland Stags rugby team to the local school fundraiser, The Eye covers everything in between. It's a quirky, upbeat style community newspaper that focuses on Invercargill community events, local people and their stories.

It's distributed to every household in Invercargill and its suburbs and is available in Winton, Bluff, Riverton and Te Anau, meaning that advertisers can target this potential and profitable market with relative ease.

Newspaper Details

With an average issue readership of 38,000 (and growing), The Eye is a community newspaper on the rise.

Since its launch in 2007 The Eye has grown from strength to strength. It originally started out as a fortnightly publication, but pressure from readers and advertisers alike saw it quickly change into a weekly publication.

It targets both males and females, including the 2,354 'equivalent full time students' studying at the Invercargill campus of the Southern Institute of Technology, right through to the large and active, retired community of Invercargill.

With a range of world-class facilities including the ILT Velodrome, new football turf, hockey turf, Stadium Southland and Splash Palace, Invercargill has become a mecca for national sporting events.

The prospering economy means that advertisers wanting to reach and target the Invercargill market NEED to advertise in The Eye.

Newspaper Display Advertising

Display advertising is located throughout the publication and utilises size, colour, illustration and typography to attract the reader's attention. Display advertising is primarily found in the editorial sections but can also be placed within classified sections if deemed appropriate and relevant.

You can request a preferred position within the newspaper for a fee or choose "run of paper" whereby the advertisement is placed in any position in the paper at our discretion. Opting for run of paper generally results in a reduced charge to an advertiser.

Classifieds are advertising only pages across a number of different categories e.g for sale, trade services or situations vacant.
