Brand extensions
The biennial wine and food lover's bible, Cuisine Wine Country, is New Zealand's biggest-selling wine publication. The 2011 edition will present the latest on the New Zealand wine-tourism experience and artisan food producers in the major wine regions, as well as up-to-date details on where to stay, where to eat and what to do in each area. Subscription offers
In each issue, a double page spread features a subscription offer enticing readers to subscribe via an added-value prize, product offer or a discounted price. Opportunities exist for advertising clients wishing to utilise these pages to give away products.

Retail is a key component of our marketing efforts, enticing the consumer to purchase our magazine at the multiple magazine outlets available. Often additional value will feature on the magazine as a cover mount or a tip-on, which is an item of value bagged or glued onto a header card inserted into the magazine. Significant reader prizes are often displayed on "book marks" inserted into each magazine which gives additional reader benefit. This activity is promoted instore with vibrant point-of-sale displays that encourage sales of the magazine and provide a fantastic opportunity for an advertiser to leverage this activity and associate their brand with the magazine.

Two major events during the year highlight the Cuisine brand:

Cuisine Restaurant of the Year - celebrates excellence in food, wine and service in restaurants throughout New Zealand and since its inception the awards competition has set a new national benchmark for the hospitality industry. It runs from March to August, with momentum building as the finalists are announced, many of whom participate in a national "dining with the stars" restaurant promotion. The winners are announced at an event in Auckland and are then promoted in a Restaurant Guide booklet which is included in the Aug/Sept issue of Cuisine.

Cuisine Artisan Awards - In October for the third year running, Cuisine is on the search for excellence and innovation from New Zealand's artisan food producers. A panel of judges will narrow the field to 10 winners, including a supreme award. The winners are announced in the March edition of Cuisine.

Cuisine is also involved in many other food-related events, including the Food Show Auckland, Gisborne Wine & Food festival and the Champions of Cheese Awards, to name but a few.
